5 In 1655, Agnes is listed as the widow of Arnold Schumacher (see "The Shoemaker's: From Germany to Ohio", page 19 and "Shoemaker Pioneers", page 75. 6 In ancestry.com I found multiple marriages and divorces for Troy Shoemaker. In his obituary, he has three children listed as survivors. Since I do not know which mother goes with which child, I have listed the children with unknown mother. Shoemaker, Bertha Jane (I5375)
 
7 In Shoemaker Pioneers, Second Edition, Page 75, the author writes that there in 1597, there was a small Minnonite village at Monschau, in the Rhine Province of Germany, Just south of Aachen and a few miles east of the Belbium fromtier, (French - "Montjoie" and "Aix"). In this village there is a Henrich Schumacher and his wife (name not mentioned) and Arndts (Arnold) Henric and his wife, Dedenborn.

When persecution rises again the Minnonites, these Minnonite families move to Dollendorf, which is near Lowenburg in the Siebengebirge hills on the east bank of the Rhine River, south of Cologne. It is at Dollendorf that Arnold's widow and his sons Peter and George first appear.

9 It has been speculated that Claude Akers was the father of Francis Joan Shoemaker. They were not married, but did have sexual relations. My mother tells me that Claude would not accept her as his daughter, but the family was more receptive. Charlie Vines
